New mothers need much support in the early days at home. We are here and ready to help you succeed with nursing your baby and have a pleasurable experience. We know that Moms retain approx 10% of what they learn in the hospital after the birth of the baby, and that is why we insure you have a great support network at your fingertips at home!
All Moms delivering at the Summerville Medical Center receive a Breastfeeding Information folder on their babys bassinette after delivery. You may refer to this written information if you have questions. You may call the Lactation Line phone number at 843-847-4554 ext 2 as questions arise. Calls are returned between 8:00-4:00 Monday through Friday. A Lactation consultant is on call during these same hours on weekends and holidays. Help is just a quick phone call away!
