New mothers need much support in the early days at home. We are here and ready to help you succeed with nursing your baby and have a pleasurable experience. We know that Moms retain approx 10% of what they learn in the hospital after the birth of the baby, and that is why we insure you have a great support network at your fingertips at home!
All Moms delivering at the Summerville Medical Center receive a “Breastfeeding Information” folder on their baby’s bassinette after delivery. You may refer to this written information if you have questions. If you did not deliver with us, please make use of the information by clicking on a link to read information and download sheets for printing:

You may call the Lactation Line phone number at 843-847-4554 ext 2 as questions arise. Calls are returned between 8:00-4:00 Monday through Friday. A Lactation consultant is on call during these same hours on weekends and holidays. Help is just a quick phone call away!
